While in Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei, Borneo) we hired Tommy and his boat to take us down Sungai Brunei to see the proboscis monkeys. He also so showed us around Kampong Ayer, the water village...a MUST SEE. Again, sorry about the sound. It was quite windy... I swear my eye lashes were stuck to my skin in an open position.
Unfortunately the monkeys aren't visible on the video, but the mangrove roots are impressive ;)
Stray's usual powers of persuasion got us an invite back to Tommy's place to meet his family.
Tommy's wife prepared snacks of fried dried fish and peanuts, which we washed down with rose flavoured cordial. Refreshing and very much appreciated, although half way through our munching we realised we were stuffing our faces during their Ramadan...in front of the kids!
Gadong Wet Market, a nightly market of all things edible. If only we hadn't just eaten!!! The sun has just set and customers are starting to trickle in to buy their dinner. At the very end of the clip you can just catch a glimpse of The Mall, a huge shopping complex next door.
A better shot of The Mall.
Cheers!
