Tag, you're it for 'My 7 Links' - when bloggers get tagged.

Recently I became aware that Cooee had been nominated to do 'My 7 Links', by Megan's Bangkok Reality Smackdown. It's a project that was started by Tripbase, and along with Lani at Tell Thai Heart and three other bloggers, Cooee has been passed the baton.

I'm also surprised that Megan named our blog, because there are so, so many out there with much more worthy content. Cooee was started solely to keep family and friends up to date (even if they rarely comment) with our whereabouts and goings on. I really don't care if anyone reads it (lie, lie), but have definitely been enjoying writing it for its therapeutic benefits.

Oh yeah, part of the game requires nominating 5 blogs (not on the list to date although it doesn't look like they're staying on top of things) to keep the relay running, which you'll find at the end of this post.

And, as the Rules state, I'm not going to over think it, so here goes. Cooee's post that was the...

Most Beautiful

Probably The Real Chiang Mai Flower Festival. Let's face it, I didn't have too try to hard for that one, flowers don't need any help being beautiful.

Most Controversial

I don't think we have any controversial posts. Durian - the thorny truth is about as contentious as Cooee gets. People can get quite emotional when expressing their opinions about the 'love it or hate it' fruit.
Most Popular

The durian post, would you believe, has received the most hits since it was published two months ago. So, statistically, it's the most popular. But for us, and I'm sure Stray would agree, the recent Vietnamese Wedding (Parts I and II) would be OUR most popular to date...not so much the post, but the actual event.

Most Helpful

Thailand Survival Kit For Newbies A real and, may I say, totally marketable product. Some essential items I put together for our friend JJ, for her first visit to Thailand, including Australianised Hong Nam (squat toilet) instructions.

Most Surprisingly Successful

A night in a day with Mr Bundy Surprising because this post remained the 'most viewed' until just recently. For what reason? I can only surmise that the title, unjustifiably, invoked *certain* misconceptions in readers...or, perhaps they thought it was about the infamous Ted. But, it's about our nutty CAT!, people.

Most Neglected - post that didn't get attention

Does my bum look big in this? No mystery why it was neglected, along with many other posts.

Most Proud Of

Hmmm...I reckon Volunteer English Teaching And Learning Thai. Not for any misconceived writing skills I think I may have, but because for Stray, teaching was the foremost reason for coming to Thailand in the first place. And he's doing it!

Cooee's nominees (which was harder than choosing My 7 Links) are, in no particular order...

Beyond The Mango Juice - Because Martyn never fails to make me smile with his humorous accounts of living in Thailand, with his wife, the wonderful Wilai.
Thailand Land Of Smiles - Because apart from updating and maintaining a really great Thai events calendar and blog, Talen, gives us a peek into his colourful daily life in Pattaya.
Pilotage Cambodia - Because it was the first heart felt blog that kept me reading from beginning to now.
Dan and Ploy's Website - Because I like to read Dan's diary and who knows, one day he'll allow comments, so I can annoy him on a regular basis.
Cambodian Beginnings - Because Philip, and sometimes Ann, write short, sweet and to the point posts about their teaching experiences in Cambodia.

This does seem a bit reminiscent of the old chain letter, but if you do decide to accept this mission, check the Nominee List (again, it doesn't look up to date) before submitting your 'My 7 Links' on the Rules page.
Cheers!

What a sweet post. "Thailand Survival Kit For Newbies" is indeed a good choice.

Pssst... thanks for the reminder :-)

@Catherine Well, 'you're it' now, thanks to Lani ;) I wouldn't like to be in your shoes...how many posts did you say you had on WLT?

I had no idea you hated me so much!

@DanPloy Oooohhhh, Dan! :)Just be thankful its not an actual chain letter wishing you umpteen years of bad luck if you don't pass it on...in which case I would have (virtually) ripped it up.

I have... a few... and when I saw the questions I sort of freaked. I can't do the response now (rushing rushing) but I will get to it.

Btw -I love Dan's site too! And I too wish that he'd put it more into a blog format (hint hint)...

Snap thanks for the nomination I'll start work on it shortly. I'm about to hit a run of four night shifts so I don't expect to get the post finished until after that.

Does my bum look big in this? I've just read the post and thoroughly enjoyed it and the answer is no.

Yes, I really wish Dan would enable stalking ;) And, try not to rush around too much, remember to smell the roses somewhere along the way.

@Martyn My pleasure and thanks for the compliment. I look forward to your selection of posts, I know there must be so many I haven't read from my pre-discovering Beyond the Mango Juice days.

Thanks Snap and Catherine. You have to do something clever to enable comments on my website, something well beyond me.
I did have a blog once but moved back to the website after a year.

I will be smelling the roses in Taiwan and Singapore next month!

Snap I've published my post and boy (girl in your case) was it hard to choose answers to the questions. Anyhow My 7 Links are now live on the Juice. Once again thanks for nominating me.

Snap! You're totally engaging and everything you write is so sweet! Your love of Thailand totally comes out...that's why I nominated you! :)

@ Dan, I dare say it would take some rearranging to enable comments on your site, but it can be done...will stop harassing now. Look forward to reading about Taiwan, I've never been.

@ Martyn, my pleasure. Put the kettle on, I'll be over in a jiffy for a read.

@ Megan, thanks. And, I did enjoy going over old posts. Finding a controversial one was the hardest, perhaps I should stir the pot a bit more ;)

@DanPloy seeeeee, it wasn't that hard, was it? Anyone would think that I'd asked you to pull your own teeth out with rusty pliers ;) Well done!

Snap, I am honored by your nomination and I will dutifully get on this as soon as my hangover subsides...it seems celebrating my birthday has become a long weekend event!

Snap, thank you so much! I cant wait to do this and to dig into your archives, what a great idea!

Snap said... Best Blogger Tips

@Talen Yin dee kha. Sorry for my late reply also, I've just returned from your neck of the woods.
